- Identity Verification: ID photos, government-issued documentation, insurance details, and Social Security or SIN digits (partial).
- Communications: Emails, chats, phone calls, or any information you send us or exchange with other users through our platform.
b. Information We Collect Automatically
- Usage Data: Page visits, search history, time spent on features, session timestamps, navigation paths, and referring links.
- Location Data: City/IP-based location and GPS data when location-sharing is enabled.
- Device Data: IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, screen resolution, and identifiers.
- Trip Data: Booking history, pricing, dates, time of use, and associated trip actions.
- In-Vehicle Data: For vehicles with tracking (e.g., Zubie or AirTag), we collect GPS location, odometer, fuel level, ignition state, and door/lock status.
c. Information from Third Parties
- Third-Party Logins: Facebook, Apple, Google profile data if you log in via those services.
- In-Vehicle Providers: Data collected by third-party-installed vehicle tracking systems.
- Background Checks: Public records, driving history, criminal background, sex offender registries, and credit reports (where allowed by law).
- Additional Sources: Demographic and fraud-prevention data from marketing or analytics partners.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to provide, improve, secure, and personalize your experience on Aqui Coqui.
a. Service Operation
- Create and manage accounts

- Manage bookings and customer service requests
- Authenticate users and validate identity
- Communicate updates, confirmations, and reminders
- Enable messaging between hosts and guests

Basic contact details, license info, and vehicle delivery or pickup locations are shared to facilitate bookings. Photos uploaded via “Trip Photos” may also be shared with your trip partner.
c. With Service Providers
We work with third parties for payment processing (e.g., Stripe), customer support, web hosting, vehicle tracking, insurance, and analytics. These providers may only use your data under our instructions.
d. Third-Party Platforms
If you log in or connect via social media or a third-party app (e.g., Google, Apple, Facebook), certain data will be shared as required for integration.
e. Professional Advisors
We may disclose your data to attorneys, accountants, auditors, insurers, or other professionals during legal, financial, or tax-related operations.
f. Legal Disclosures
We may disclose your information to comply with legal obligations or respond to law enforcement, regulatory, or judicial inquiries.
g. Business Transfers
If Aqui Coqui is acquired, merged, or reorganized, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Use of Vehicle Tracking Devices
Aqui Coqui vehicles may be equipped with GPS trackers or Apple Air Tags. These devices are used exclusively for:
- Theft prevention and recovery
- Trip tracking and safety
- Emergency support
Tampering with or disabling these devices is strictly prohibited and may result in penalties.
5. Marketing and Advertising
- We may use your email and phone number for advertising purposes (email, SMS, digital ads).
- You can opt out of marketing emails by clicking the “unsubscribe” link.
- For SMS, reply STOP to opt out.
6. Retention of Credit Card Information
Payment information is securely stored by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. Aqui Coqui does not retain full card details.
Use of your card is subject to Stripe’s Terms and Privacy Policy.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Access & Correction: You can view or edit your data by logging in or contacting us at customerservice@aquicoquicarsharing.com.
- Data Deletion: You may request deletion of your account. However, we may retain data needed to:
- Comply with legal obligations
- Resolve disputes
- Detect fraud
- Enforce our policies
- Location Settings: You can disable location tracking via your mobile settings.
- Interest-Based Ads:
- Block cookies in your browser
- Disable mobile ad-tracking
- Use privacy-focused extensions like Privacy Badger or U-Block Origin
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption, monitoring, secure access) to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Cross-Border Transfers
Your data may be processed in the U.S. or other countries. By using our Services, you consent to the transfer of your data across borders, which may have different levels of legal protection.
10. Children’s Privacy
Aqui Coqui does not knowingly collect data from individuals under 18. If we learn we’ve received data from a minor, we’ll delete it promptly.
